Hi, everyone!

I'm making a cutscene for Blizzard's cinematic contest, and since Blizzard won't accept any copyrighted music, I need someone to make music for me.

The cutscene must be shorter than 5 minutes and be revenge themed. So far I've made about a minute, and I still need to finalize the script, but that should be no problem. I suppose I could have the cutscene ready shortly after this weekend.
Edit: Currently it is aproximately 26% complete.

The deadline of the competition is Nov 18, so I'll need the music much sooner, of course.

If you want to have a taste of my cinematic making skills, watch my Tournament Cinematics Collection. It's a campaign made of 4 short humorous cutscenes (they are all less than 10 minutes long). I could also send you what I've made so far, if you're interested.

You'll of course get credit...
Is there anyone interested in helping me out?

Hi there, King Klear!

Welcome to the site.

I am very interested in helping you out.

I sent you a PM earlier, but it seems to have got lost in the system . . .

Oh well, this is my expression of interest.

I'll re-write that PM for you.

Edit: I don't normally take on projects posted here, as I'm already busy enough as it is with Counterstrike at Quel'Thalas, but I find film music much quicker and easier to write, so I'm making an exception here.

Good luck!

And due to Blizzard's rules of craziness, probably shouldn't show any of the project here (or anywhere else public) until after the competition closes.

A small detail, but the Mod Projects forum look somehow better =)

In case somebody, who doesn't know it already, is wondering, the cutscene is almost finished, I just need the music, voices and some tiny adjustments to make it as perfect as possible  Cheesy

Hopefully we will receive word back soon.

And then we might be able to show people the cinematic, too.

Congratulations, guys!

Thanks!

You can see the official announcement here if you scroll down past the highlighted map.

And (if you have WarCraft III and The Frozen Throne installed, and have the latest patch installed) you can watch the cinematic if you download it from here.

No comments on the music so far . . . anywhere.

For the more serious people, be forwarned that the soundtrack is kind of cartooney. (in the kind of exaggerated sense, not in a Tom and Jerry sense ).

That is a shame - I know how greatly the music improved the whole movie.
I guess that music tends to amplify and improve other things, while remaining in the background.

Okay, here's the soundtrack for the cinematic for anyone interested in hearing it.

The recording is here, and the sheet music is here, for those so inclined.

And don't say I didn't warn you that it was cartoony!

For anyone interested, someone made a video capture of the cinematic and hosted it on YouTube.

You may find the link to it here.

The soundtrack is surprisingly audible, even if the last few seconds of music are cut off. Tongue

I have to say it's not my best work (it didn't translate so well from the score to the instrument samples I was using at the time), but I am proud of the fact it helped contribute to the cinematic receiving an honourable mention from Blizzard. Smiley
