Composer Chance Thomas' website stated "WarCraft III Trailer" as one of the composer's projects. Now the only WarCraft III trailer music that I've heard of is "A Call To Arms" which is a Jason Hayes/Glenn Stafford collaboration. Any ideas where and how composer Chance Thomas got involved?

i'm not so sure but i remember the early first trails for warcraft iii featured a somehow "unfinished" version of what would become later the well known "a call to arms". Maybe he was working on that ?

Hi - Chance Thomas here.  I thought maybe I could answer Sacrenouille's question directly.  My company, HUGEsound, offers many services beyond creating original music.  We provide sound effects, mixing, audio design, and live session production assistance.  That was what I did for Jason's score on the Warcraft III trailer.  I provided Jason with assistance in getting his original score for the trailer realized by a live orchestra.  We had a great time preparing the music, and the recording sessions turned out well.  He's such a talented writer, and so intuitive with the orchestra - it was a pleasure to work with him.

Hope that helps!

Hey guys, and hey there Chance!

Sorry for my long absence...

The Call to Arms track that is readily available on the web (the one from the E3 trailer and the WoW soundtrack) isn't a live orchestral recording, but Chance is referring to an excerpt that was recorded live in Utah for a short Warcraft III theatrical trailer that appeared in front of movies like LOTR II and others. Chance and I had a great time hanging out in Salt Lake City doing that recording, and his music contracting and music prep assistance were fantastic Smiley
