Ok, so I made an IDIOT mistake.

I bought a killer new VAIO 3.0Ghz with Hyperthreading tech....

The problem?

GIGASTUDIO DOESN"T SUPPORT HYPERTHREADING!!!!!

Solution? Turn off Hyperthreading in the BIOS, or your computer will crash!

I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!!!!!!!!!!

That SERIOUSLY sucks. I have a lot of problems like that with Gigastudio. Using it with some settings that wouldn't work with your comp is always a garantuee for a very sudden shutdown. Not to mention it still isn't to stable.

Sucks man.

Yeah, but it works fantastic when I turn off the Hyperthreading....weird.

What boggles my mind is, how can a supposed 'cutting edge' sampler developer NOT release support for their most RECENT version of Giga?!?!?

Giga 3 doesn't offer any type of HT compatibility, which doesn't make any sense, considering you HAVE to operate the program on a PC, and most decent new units come with some type of HT or dual processing power.

Get with the times, Tascam!

Might be a leader in the market they also have a rather long list of "known issues" some of wich are quite serious.

Btw now that we are on the gigastudio subject. Can you perchance tell me how you record your midi? See I can't get it to work in Giga 3 (I upgraded).

YAY! Good news!

Giga 3.04 (the RECENT update) is now ok with HT!

Just thought I'd pass this along!
