Hi jason,

i have look your video "World of Warcraft suite from Play! A Video Game Symphony"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8OQ7NGw8S4

It is possible to use a true orchestra for diablo  3 soundtrack, without mixing :
I know the best book in orchestration of death  Wink

http://books.google.fr/books?id=sV8MAAAAYAAJ&dq=kastner%20les%20danses%20des%20morts&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q&f=false

I have made a new symphony orchestra based on an idea of French composer Jean-georges Kastner. Wink

Example of a song :

No, my song is really short !  Wink

I would like to speak about true orchestra without mixing with jason.

For example i like "The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion theme"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3EOibiVzq4

It's just a thought, myself i have spoken with jeremy about orchestration in real and mixing.

Finally i think it's possible without mixing.  Smiley

A new example of a song :

The Mixing and Mastering process is not a chore, it's just an essential link in the chain between recording and listening.

Of course if you want a live feel, by all means, don't do anything, but that's not always the best way things can turn out.

As far as your link, your short piece is not real and the Play! performance sounds terrible.  Mostly due to a lack of mixing, mastering, and proper recording gear (ala camera/phone).
